The Bigger Picture 2023 - a collaboration with rapper Sachém

‘The Bigger Picture’ is a dichotomy of two places that Sachém holds dear. The first central to Sachém’s experience as a First Nations artist is North Stradbroke Island, where he grew up. The second is Brisbane’s West End, where he now resides and runs a First Nations-owned music studio. This Dichotomy is a powerful representation of the intersection of Sachém’s family life in Minjerribah and his experiences as a First Nations artist living in the city. The music that inspired the mural captures the essence of these experiences. It’s a celebration of culture, family, and the power of connection through music.
